Hello there! My name is Janeel, but you can also call J.J. I am a part time college student with a love for children and helping others. My major is Health Sciences at the University of South Florida and I am currently employed as a pharmacy technician, but I have decreased my hours to make time for my hobbies and to explore other options. I would describe myself as a social, outgoing individual who loves to make people laugh. My friends would describe me as dependable, warm, and elderly at heart because I'm always giving advice and prefer to be the sensible one. My first passion is pharmacy and has been since I was in high school, but my second passion is working with children. My first volunteer and then job experience was with the public library as a library aid and Director of Children's Activities. I put together programs Read more to develop reading skills in children in our community and plan entertainment events that doubled as mentoring programs. Then, I became an assistant to help out my mother - a school nurse at a local elementary school. This position combined my love of health and children and showed me how to care for children with special needs. In my spare time, I babysat for local families in my neighborhood who worked rigorous schedules. Often times, I babysat AND dogsat to save parents the trouble of finding two different sitters. I have a dependable vehicle that is solely mine and attended a formal driving school before getting my license. My CPR certification has expired and I am in the process of attending certification class, but I still am confident in my knowledge in CPR related incidents. Lastly, I believe that every child is different. There's no "one way" to treat a child. You have to get to know them and understand how they learn and respond. With any child I have babysat or been in charge of, I have always (and will always) kept their best interest at heart and made sure that all rules or goals set by parents/guardians were met and kept. Thank you for reading and I look forward to the opportunity to be an extended part of your family! - J.J.
