Being the oldest of five, I have always been around children and helped my mother with daily necessities. For as long as I can remember, children have always been around, whether it be cousins, neighbors, or family friends, I have always enjoyed being around them. Starting out my career in retail, it wasn't until I was offered a job at the same elementary school that i attended as a Professional Assistant. I was excited about going back to the place that had taught me so mush. Working alongside three of the teachers that were still there when I attended made me feel proud to be there and be that person to the students that I was able to interact with. Welcoming over 800 students was the way to start my morning. The YMCA was hiring an after-school counselor and I jumped at the opportunity and applied. I supervised between 15-25 Read more students on a weekly basis. Four years later i wanted to do something more excited and worked my way to become a Program Specialist with the Boy Scouts of America. I served two units a day, five days a week with 10-15 boys per unit. This was the perfect way to ensure the growth and development of young men and help them start of their lives in an exciting and intellectual way.
