Hello, my name is Laura Martin. Working with kids has always been my desire and I have been doing so for years. I have a broad background of working with kids of all ages. Throughout high school I was a Teaching Assistant for a minimum of two middle school classes a year. I have tutored elementary, middle, and high school levels; in Science, Math, English, and Spanish. I have work experience in the medical field as well, I currently hold a Certified Nursing Aid license, and CPR and First-Aid for healthcare providers and have worked at camps aimed to teach kids basic first-aid. I have spent years working with infants through fifth grade with my church in the children's program this involved playing, teaching, and taking care of the children. I was also a Sunday school teacher to middle school girls for three years. In my experience I have been Read more trained and have experience working with special needs children. My passion for science and art extends to my love to work with kids; I love to bring those subjects to a child’s level and engage their minds, integrating learning with play in a fun way. Growing up I was an active girl scout all the way through high school and had a lot of opportunity to work with younger scouts, leading crafts and game activities helping engage kids and use their imaginations. I love seeing the excitement in a kid’s faces when they are able to create and explore new ideas, and it brings a lot of joy when I have the chance to work with them. I spend my time volunteering at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and have a great deal of experience of working with children of all ages in my time there. I am currently a senior in college and I am looking to be able to connect with a family.
