Hello I am Laura Moraè, I am a mother of three grown children with one married with kids. I have experience as a child care provider in a baby sitting or daycare capacity. I have been caring for children as a babysitter since 10 years old and started a babysitting club that ran through middle school - College. I owned a in home day care in Douglasville between 2008 - 2014 Called Kidz Next Door. It closed because the county no longer allowed home day cares to be in subdivisions. I currently own a home on a large private lot with a pool. Unfortunately for the kiddos the pool is closing next month and will be covered until next April. I have a four bedroom home with a basement. My baby girl of 22 is still home and we have cats and dogs for those who are allergic. I am Read more typically home alone Mon - Sat, I work from home and don’t have many visitors so children will be safe from strangers. I would like to get back into child care services on a part time or full time basis. I am able to provide service in my home or in your home. I just bought a Jeep SUV so that will assist with transporting children if needed. I can start immediately and can provide past references but unfortunately I have not cared for children in this capacity in many years so I have no recent references. I take care of my grandchildren for free so it is not the same. I abide by the parents rules, regulations, & guidelines. I like to give children various activities to do that can enhance their development like going on walks, reading time, learning activities, physical activities, rest periods and naps, healthy raw and cooked meals, I am 4 mins from Lake Spivey Rec Center that has a water park and playground, I encourage field trips to the Zoo or museums, and like to use art for children to explore their imagination. I am a business owner and business developer by trade, I have had years of child Psychology and sociology research, I am holistic so minimal chemicals and medications, I am vegetarian but have years experience cooking for all kinds of diet requirements, I have 6 years experience caring for children with physical and mental disabilities, and I am great at potty training. My discipline system is first to talk to the child about behavior issues, if the issues continue then I warn the child parents will be called, if they continue I have the child sit at the table to think about their actions then I will ask them if they understand what they did was not okay and will threaten to take a privilege away if the child can’t behave, if there are still issues I then contact parents or guardians. I do not believe children should be put in adult scenarios so no cursing, no vulgar music/media, no social media, no alcohol, no drugs, no exposure to sexuality or personal beliefs, and no shaming of any kind will be allowed around children while in my care. Children should be children as long as possible.
