ant meetings. She set the rate. She set the time. She said she was returning from a trip, but landing 1.5-2 hrs before she was scheduled to show. I asked her to please keep me posted as I couldn’t afford to miss my meetings that day. She told me not to worry. I made sure to even track her flight. She landed more than 2 hrs before her schduled start time Well…about 30 minutes before she was set to arrive - she simply wrote me a text saying “I won’t be able to make it.” No explanation. NOTHING. This wasn’t our first time hiring her either. She was hired to watch my son for a few days while I was away at a conferen’ozfhe was on school break. My husband was working from home and noted that she was late each day (by more than just a couple of minutes), seemed a bit lazy, wasn’t ‘active and creative with projects, etc’ for kids as stated in her application. I could get past that. I just needed someone dependable. A no show affects more than just the family that is getting ditched - it affects everyone else and every other matter that was expecting a parent to show up. When a parent is left with no childcare options - they end up letting so many people down. They have literally no power to remedy the situation or the issues they have to put onto others because of the circumstances (especially when they are told with zero notice).
