I have over 4 years of practical experience serving children and the families of children with disabilities. I am a certified special education teacher in the Metro Atlanta area, and I am extremely passionate about students with special needs. I believe that all students should be afforded a high quality education. They should also have access to key service providers to support their personal, academic, and behavioral, needs. As an educator, I am specifically able to offer research-based academic and behavioral interventions to support students at school and at home. I also have experience in developing transition plans for students entering adulthood (i.e. post-secondary goal planning, action-plan development, progress monitoring). My goal is to develop a partnership with families so that the child/young adult is best served by all key stakeholders involved in their education. I am passionate about learning and helping students take their study habits to the next Read more level. I intend to increase students' knowledge while providing them with life-long strategies. As special education teacher, I aim to find new and create ways to deliver content. My methods include many visual aids, instructional technology, and manipulatives to support the diverse learning needs of all students. It is my hope that all of my students feel either college or career ready at the end of our tutorial commitment. Certifications/Endorsements: - Certified K-8 in reading, English Language Arts, mathematics, science, and social studies - Certified K-12 consultative support in English Language Arts, mathematics, science, and social studies - Reading endorsement Specialties: ADD/ADHD, Learning Disabilities (i.e. dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia), Mild Intellectual Disabilities, Emotional Behavior Disorders, & Autism
