Hello! I am excited to submit my application for this learning support role. I am confident that my education and various experiences care-taking, tutoring and supporting children with special needs, will merit your consideration. As a brief introduction, I am a dual US and UK citizen and attended Kings College London, U.K. I also did an academic exchange at UC Berkeley, where I did studies in child psychology. Throughout 2020 – I nannied for a family with two boys (6yrs and 3yrs). The eldest had mosaic down syndrome, and I assisted him with virtual school and his occupational therapy. He was the most amazing kid, and also struggled with a speech impediment and mood regulation. He struggled to feel motivated with learning, especially in a virtual environment and took a lot of nurturing support and encouragement. I really aimed to earn his trust and work with him to complete home Read more work, participate in class, and build his confidence in the classroom. I want to study child psychology down the line, and really want to gain more experience and contribute to a child’s learning and development. My personal philosophy for child care is to use play and education to encourage curiosity, and to maintain fair and consistent discipline, both of which allow each child to grow. I am personally very active and love to run around with the kids and let their imaginations run wild. I am kind, patient and have experience with special needs, mindfulness and DBT (Dialectal Behaviour Therapy). In addition, I was a math tutor at math centre “Mathnasium” and gave SAT tutoring. Although my this bio outlines my experience and skills - I would appreciate the opportunity to demonstrate in an interview my tutoring skills, as well as my empathetic and dedicated nature. I can also provide my full resume and references upon request. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerely, Olivia Cappelletti olcappelletti@gmail.com (404) 909 6757
