I’m a young college student studying to become a forensic scientist. I am now attending Georgia Highlands College and will be graduating soon with an associates degree. I began working with kids a little over a year ago at the Boys & Girls Club of America. I have experience with ages from 4-18. I oversee roughly about 20 or more kids a day. I make sure each kid is signed in when they enter the building and is feed the proper meal we have prepared for the day. Each child goes to a specific area in our building to work on homework. I make it my mission to make sure each child that is with me has done there homework. Once homework time is over we break off into groups according to age. Once each child is in there correct group we begin our activities that I have planned out. Read more Each day is something different, sometimes our activities can be fun and sometimes they can be hard and challenging for the kids. I love each and every single one of my kids and will do anything for them. I have created a bond with each one of them in different ways and it makes my job more interesting that they know they can come and talk to me about things happening at school as far as kids bullying them for example. I one day hope to change the environment of our community for some of our kids. I want to keep our children educated and off the streets! I want to teach them life lessons and show them what hard work and failure can get you if you don’t give up on your dreams and goals.
