Hello! My name is Carolyn Kaes. I am a 22 year old college student majoring in Early Childhood Education through Liberty University Online. My 3 favorite things are kids, coffee, and cats. I am actively involved at Living Hope Church where I enjoy serving musically on the worship team. I also love horses. I joke that I spent the majority of 12 years on the back of a horse, and it is still one of my favorite places to be! Additionally, I really enjoy theatre and love to get involved with local shows whenever I can. I am the oldest of 9 children, so I have spent my entire life around little ones! Many people have asked me if I don't like kids after growing up with so many, but it's actually just the opposite; I truly love being around children and I hope to spend the rest of my Read more life working with kids! I began babysitting my younger siblings around the age of 12, and for family friend's children when I was 13. It was around this time that my friend and I began a horseback riding summer day camp for children. We continued this for 7 years, and I operated our final camp with 21 children ages 4-12. It was so much fun and a great experience. Throughout high school and after graduating I nannied off and on for several families for children between the ages of 18 months and 12 years. In January of 2015 I began working for the YWCO as an after school counselor. I work with K5-5th grade children each afternoon. I am responsible for the physical and emotional well-being of the children as I assist with homework, direct gym games, prepare and lead arts and crafts projects, and monitor free play. During summer break, I continued working for the Y as a summer day camp counselor. I was a co-counselor with 3 other people for the 2nd and 3rd grade group. At camp we led the children through gym games, arts and crafts, free play time, organized team sports, swimming, and weekly field trips.
