I have my CPR and First Aid ceritifications as well as experience with overseeing large groups of children from my previous job. I was the Merchandise Manager at an art gallery for a non profit arts organization. I was also the facility attendant and house mananger for theatre nights at the main building during shows. My duties included ensuring the safety of all patrons and employees inside of the building as well as being prepared for any minor situations and emergencies. During my time as facility attendant, it was my responsibility to maintain a safe environment while managing the children’s art, dance, and theatre classes taking place under my supervision. This required me to have one-on-one time with the students, (ages ranging from 2-18) which enabled me to enteract with them on a daily basis. I also have experience with teaching large classes of children from my time as a Read more gymnastics coach, where I taught beginners, intermediate, and advanced gymnastics, so groups of kids ranging from 3-5 years of age, 6-9 years of age, and 10-14 years of age. I taught private lessons as well. Lastly, I have a four year old nephew who is the light of my world! I have been there for every milestone in his life, from the delivery room to coaching his t-ball team. The experience you gain from nurturing a niece or nephew is unlike any other because, from a quote I once heard, only an aunt can give hugs like a mother, keep secrets like a sister, and share love like a friend. I believe my experience as an aunt has taught me more than all of my jobs caring for children. Though those jobs gave me my technical experience, being an aunt has allowed me to learn how to be a mentor, teacher, friend, playpall, confidant, cheerleader and role model. I am the babysitter that plans activities if needed, from finger painting to educational (safe) science experiments like making goo or crystals. I lean more towards artistic activities if the child is interested, but I’ll also go outside and toss a baseball around or play tag. I will shape a routine for each individual child in order to provide the type of care and environment needed and desired for your child. I am reliable so you can trust your child is in the best hands and I’m flexible to meet your scheduling needs.
