Hi :-) My name is Caitlin! I have a diverse background in working with children. I have worked as a Junior Kindergarten teacher at an international school abroad. In addition to this, I have worked a various summer camps with children ranging from 7-17, and I have also worked as an English teacher for younger learners and teenagers. Apart from that, I presently work as an online English teacher for younger learners. I enjoy being creative and working on different types of crafts projects, as well as being active and staying busy- these two attributes have definitely shown in my teaching methods and how I interact with children. I think that it is important that even when playing, children are still gaining new skills and learning. That being said, I still think it is extremely important for learning to be fun, which is why I do my best to have Read more activities that incorporate creativity & imagination but still teach skills such as: counting, reading, strengthen and fine-tune motorskills, and critical & comprehensive thinking. I am very silly and goofy- as a teacher I constantly would sing songs, dance, and partake in movement games (think hot potato, duck-duck-goose, hopscotch, etc) with my students. I also think that it is important to relate to children and as a teacher it was important for me to find out what they like (favorite characters, color, foods, were they more logical or creative, etc) and design lesson plans and activities that would appeal to them but also help them expand and try new things. Minions, Princess Jasmine, Ariel, Batman, and Spongebob are some of my favorite characters so it is quite common to see that I am sporting a coffee cup or socks with some of these characters on them :-) I am open to answer any additional questions you may have regarding my experience working with children.
