Hello, my name is Dominique! I have worked with children starting at young age doing camp counseling during summer (I worked with children between the ages of 5 and 13). I furthered my work experience working at the Boys and Girls Club as a lead teacher. I worked mainly with middle school aged children but I filled in with the kindergarten-2nd grade classrooms, if needed. Before graduating college, I worked as a counselor within a group home for girls. My duties included cooking, assisting with chores, taking the girls on outings, and helping them with homework as needed. After graduation, I moved to Atlanta and began working at a rehab for women with young children. There I cared for infants throughout the day (and sometimes at night) and did after school programs with the school aged children in the afternoon. My next opportunity was working at a crisis unit for Read more children and adolescents for almost two years. My duties there were to assist children with their treatment, run programs and activities, and to monitor behavior throughout the day. I am now employed at Henry County Schools, teaching high school social studies. My passion for working with children started at a young age and it continues to give me purpose. I love to see goals reached, milestones accomplished, and small lessons learned. The things I have learned from children has assisted with growing me into the professional I am today, and I hope to continue to grow in my field.
