I am a 56 year old, African American female. I will be 57 years old in October. I am a widow and an adoptive mother of a 28 year old daughter whom I reside with in Smyrna. I am currently retired from the State of Michigan Department of Human Resources where, I, was employed as an, "Eligibility Specialist", for 28 years. My duties were to determine eligibility and issue benefits for Michigan's Food Stamp and Medicaid Programs. I, have no criminal background. I was trusted with thousands of client's confidential information such social security numbers, bank account numbers and other asset information issued billions of dollars of benefits as part of my job. I performed my duties no incidents or violations of my trust and responsibilities. Out of my total 43 years of employment, I have 15 years of experience with working with children from ages 0-19 years old. My Read more very first jobs were babysitting positions. I have, also, worked in 3 group homes for emotionally disturbed teenagers, an emergency shelter for abandoned, neglected and abused children ages 0-5 years old and I have often done occasional babysitting for my family and friends. The problem that I have with my experience is that it has been so long ago, since, I, had these jobs that, I, don't have any recent references, except, my family and friends. I don't remember the contact information for the group homes that, I, was employed by and the emergency shelter lost it's funding and closed many years ago. Unfortunately, most of my experience in child care is unverifiable. However, I, can tell you that, I, am a good parent, honest, trust worthy and reliable. I, have high morals and old fashioned standards. I am professional and treat all people with respect, including children. I will care for, treat and protect your child as, I, do my own. I, will be a good role model in the presence of your child and in your home. I, don't believe in verbal nor physical abuse. I, will respect and follow all the rules that you have set for your child and your home.
