I am first and foremost a mother of 2 girls (ages 18 and 23) and have being a Special Education Teacher for the past 17+ years. During my career I have worked with children from birth to 11 years old who were suspected of having a delay (i.e autism) or other disabilities. Over the years I have worked with children and their families primarily in their homes for at least a minimum of 1 year. My purpose in the lives of these children was not only to support the children in their educational goals but to collaborate with other related service providers (i.e. Speech Therapists) as well as teach the families how they can better help their children in the developmental process. It is very easy and natural for me to develop a close bond with the children and their families. I really enjoy working with children.
