I am currently work for an environmental consultant firm with a flexible schedule. I love to interact with kids from a young age. Here I will talk about my work experience with kids I have had. First, I was a Teacher’s Aide at St. Clements Preschool in Honolulu, Hawaii. At this preschool, I assisted with a class of 15 4-year-olds under the direction of the classroom teacher. I helped with organizing classroom supplies, feeding students, playground supervision, and other tasks as needed. I also was a babysitter for 7-year-old triplet boys of family friends. For this job, my responsibilities included cooking, feeding, ensuring safety, playing with and entertaining them. I also tried to teach them important life lessons by being good role model. Another job I had was a Playground Supervisor for K-6 Students at my high school, Punahou School. This was my first paid work experience which introduced me Read more to work responsibilities and nurtured my passion for early childhood education. For this job, I was primarily playground supervision and accompanying students to board buses, and assisting at auto pick-up station. Another job I had was a teaching Assistant for 3rd graders at Afternoon Fun also at Punahou School. At this job, I supported teachers in supervision of young students in activities at my K-12 school campus. I served meals and snacks to students and walked students to their scheduled activities. I had to make sure the students were safe, but having fun at all times. My most recent job with kids was a activity Coordinator for Sylvan Learning Center of Kahala. I was in charge of activities for 50 international student campers per week at the Kids Camp (Dec.-Feb.) for Sylvan Learning Center where I selected, planned, contracted for, and supervised camper activities, managed the money and made payments for the activities, maintained the Sylvan Facebook Page, and planned and ordered lunch for all campers each day. Also, maintained discipline on excursions, instituted a “buddy system” to ensure safety, comforted frequent home-sick, non-English speaking students (usually ages 4-5), called parents when necessary, arranged bus transportation for special excursions, created all graduation certificates, maintain the activities Excel spreadsheet, and performed other tasks as directed.
