Hi! My name is Vanessa, and I am a senior at Iowa State in Animal Science. I have been babysitting since I was 13 years old for multiple different families, but mainly one with a range of ages of children. That family had four kids (two when I started for them), so I have experience with newborns up to 10 year olds. I babysat for this family for multiple years and very regularly, especially during the summer. As an Animal science major, plus growing up on a farm, I am comfortable with all animals and enjoy them! In high school, I had my CPR/AED and First Aid training through my Health Class, and when I was 12 I took a babysitting certification class. Since they have expired, however, I have many years of experience of watching children and knowledge/experience of how to properly handle emergency situations.
