Hello! My name is Rachel, and I'm currently a sophomore at the University of Iowa. I've cared for children since the age of 12, be it babysitting younger cousins, being an Assistant Teacher in a first communion class, or tutoring younger students in math and English. Be it an hour of tutoring or 5 hours of babysitting, I always try building a connection with the child I'm working with. That might mean making paper crowns and cardboard swords for a game of Fairy Wars with a rowdy six year-old, or discussing the characters and plot of Percy Jackson and the Olympians with a tween; children are full of questions and ideas, and I love listening to them. Some recreational activities I enjoy include creative writing, sewing outfits for stuffed animals, reading from my backlog of books, and using the Voxman practice rooms to sing. I also like cooking and baking Read more new things; baking, I've found, is much harder! My background is with children from the ages of 5 to 13, and I have experience working with kids diagnosed with ADHD. I'd love to get to know you and your child for the time we spend together :)
