Hi, I’m Katie and I’m 21! I’m originally from Sergeant Bluff, Iowa but moved to Omaha for school and ended up loving it so I stayed full time! I’m majoring in wildlife conservation and have done an internship at the zoo, but I would love to help you and be a part of your child’s life! I love children and I can’t wait to have my own family some day! I’m very responsible and a child’s safety is my number one priority at all times. I have lots of experience with cleaning, cooking, baking, and lots and lots of crafts! I’ve worked with kids ages 0-12 and am comfortable with any age! I have experience babysitting for neighbors, family, and many other people. I’ve recently been working at a few daycares, but I feel that a child deserves that one-on-one connection with a caretaker. It’s so important to build healthy Read more relationships with kids so they have good role models, learn important lessons in life, and are able to connect not just with other children but adults too. Most of my cleaning, cooking, baking, and art experience comes from having been a child myself! I learned what it meant to have responsibility from a young age after my mom got tired of cleaning all my dirty laundry and had no other choice but to do it myself. As a child I learned how to cook and clean from my parents as well. I have lots of experience from different child care centers. I’ve learned to be patient, more understanding, basic child care duties (diapers, feedings, etc.), how to manage time properly, how to create a safe environment for children to thrive and grow, and really how to live in the moment. Children have such an amazing view of the world and that childlike wonder always reminds me to stop and smell the roses. I did a babysitting class when I was 12 and have a certificate for the Heimlich maneuver but I have no idea where that’s gone after 9 years. I took a first aid class my freshman year at UNO, but was unable to finish it because I got sick. I did learn how to do CPR on adults, adolescents, and infants. I love kids and I really hope to be a part of your child’s/children’s lives as a nanny/babysitter!
