I enjoy finger painting, singing together with kids, and helping them explore the world around them. We spend lots of time outdoors having leaf boat races, making grass whistles or doing other creative activities that don't involve TV. My background is in typical manly work leading wilderness construction crews, but I discovered teaching in 2008 and have been working with children ever since. I have worked in childcare centers, international schools, music/movement programs and for the YMCA. I served as the Tokyo YMCA Program Director where I designed curriculum and taught ESL students. I later transferred to a YMCA where I managed our childcare program, handling logistics, ensuring child safety, and creating community educational programs for preschool children. I have a BA in Japanese studies and am currently an assistant teacher at a local Montessori school with children ages 3-5. I am multilingual, CPR/First Aid certified and hold a current Read more childcare license. I love to cook, bake, play music, read and play with my dogs in my spare time. I enjoy engaging with the kids and participating in their games. My favorite children's movie is Song of The Sea and book is The Little Prince. I am very creative in coming up with safe and fun ways to entertain your children. I believe that children will grow with confidence when we allow them to do things by themselves.
