Hi! My name is Jillian and I’ve been working in professional childcare for over four years at New Horizon Academy. During that time I’ve worked in every classroom and have been a lead teacher in the infant, two-year-old, and four-year-old rooms. I’m currently a lead teacher in the infant classroom where I care for up to 10 babies with different needs, schedules, and personalities. One of the things I care most about is building strong relationships with both children and parents. I believe communication, trust, and consistency are really important when caring for kids. I’m also a mentor teacher at my center, which means I help guide and support newer teachers. Outside of work, I’ve always been very family-oriented. I helped my single mom care for my younger brother who has Asperger’s, which taught me patience, understanding, and how to support children with different needs.
