I have always loved working with children. From the age of 12 to 16 I was a consistent babysitter helping to raise twin boys. I also babysat several other kids in addition to my younger brother. From there I became a ministry leader assistant in my church. I worked with fourth and fifth graders and fell in love with the trust that we formed. I was also a camp counselor for 7-9 year old campers; however, I would constantly help in other age groups as well. This required me to plan daily activities, care for ouchies, get campers to and from lunch, and form relationships with both campers and parents. I am currently going to school part time to become an elementary teacher. I believe babysitters should interact with the children in ways such as doing crafts, playing games, and reading. They are at a wonderful age to learn to Read more socialize and use their imagination. It is very important to help that grow.
