Hi! My name is Anya B., but you can call me Nya (Nye-uh). I am a current graduate student at ISU, pursuing a Master of Public Health Degree. I graduated in 2016 with my Bachelor of Science in Dietetics. My favorite activities during my undergrad involved being with children. I assisted at a kids camp for those with diabetes and helped teach a few nutrition lessons to children. Seeing their smiling faces and hearing them become excited about the material made these experiences rewarding. Other childcare experiences I have include Vacation Bible School at church, Day Camp, and Summer Care Programs. During the summers of my middle school and high school years, I assisted with my church's Vacation Bible School and Summer Day Camp. Once I turned 16, I was a Summer Care Program Assistant for a local Christian school. I loved this position and worked there until there the Read more fall of my senior year of high school. I also babysat during high school and have experience caring for multiple children. Before diving into my values and beliefs as a babysitter, I wanted to say that I prefer virtual sitting but would be fine in person on a case-by-case basis. As a babysitter, I promise to be enthusiastic, caring, kind, and punctual. My motto is if we are early, we are on time and if we are on time, we are considered late. The Golden Rule is a value of mine. Treat others how you would like to be treated. I also abide by parents' rules and expectations but am also flexible. My full attention will be on your children. Some activities I would do as a babysitter include reading, tutoring, and simply talking. The list goes on. I love to learn more about others! I am willing to babysit any age and do well with all ages. However, I've had individuals inform me that I am a great fit for pre-teens and teenagers. I understand that this age tends to feel "too cool" to have supervision, but I strive to make it less of a "babysitting" environment and more of a "hanging out" environment, with rules in place, of course! Tutoring K-6th grade subjects is a service I will provide as a babysitter. Math however is not a strong point of mine, but I would be comfortable tutoring this subject at a Kindergarten-1st grade level. I may be comfortable tutoring some Middle School subjects, it truly depends, and will definitely take a look at your child's schoolwork before making a final decision.
