I was born into a “mommy” role — something like a free babysitter for my mom. Due to the responsibilities I was given, I grew independent at a young age and honed a motherly instinct that would serve me in taking care of my siblings. Being the eldest of 4, I learned to manage with all of them at once. My mother’s friends recognized my knack for care-taking and I would soon be babysitting for them as well. Through these experiences I acquired skills necessary for the job including (but not limited to) helping with homework, organizing tea parties, and becoming proficient at their favorite video games. As for my academic career, I took mostly AP and honors classes in high school, and I’m currently in my first semester of college. I plan on going into biotechnology. It is also worth noting that I grew up in a racially diverse Read more household, contributing not only to my cultural awareness but providing me with multiple languages. I speak fluent English and Spanish, and basic Arabic and French.
