Admittedly I've not had babysitting experience in the sense that I stayed at another home to care for one child. I have experience as a camp counselor with the BSA. My duties included educating and caring for campers staying every week. I was on call 24/7 and would stay in cabins relatively close to the campers to provide instant aid. I am an Eagle Scout and have been certified in First Aid and CPR. I enjoyed watching and taking care of the children I taught, and I've been told I was one of the more appreciated counselors. Not that it matters much as far as experience goes, but I've been told I have a "fatherly" personality, once by my own dad. I don't think I've gone a day in my life without a pet to take care of. I'm well versed with cats and dogs, but I've had my share Read more of hamsters, guinea pigs, and a leopard gecko once. That said, I'm more than willing to care for animals as well. I've had some cooking experience, but I generally make omelettes and experiment with boxed meals using added spices or vegetables. I don't plan on doing the bare minimum. I can certainly be responsible for making sure children are cleaned and properly prepared for bed, but I'm ready to entertain and possibly teach them simultaneously. Every child deserves the best care they can receive at all times, and I'd be proud if I can offer that.
