Hi there! My name is Silvia and I am a 27-year-old Columbia grad with a B.A. in journalism. Since graduation I have traveled to Africa where I volunteered as an English teacher in a Ugandan orphanage. A newfound love for education sprang up from my month there working with kids K-7 and I have been pursuing a path in education since. I currently work in purchasing for a convention center and on Mon-Wed I teach English as a Second Language at a community center in Chicago's north side Albany Park. Before this position I worked for the Academy for Global Citizenship charter school on the south side of Chicago where I taught an after shcool program (K-2) involving theater and theater production. I also taught 2nd grade every other friday. I have experience babysitting for more than 5 years. I love being creative and getting the kids to be active.
