I've been a babysitter ever since I was old enough to care for my younger siblings (I’m 10-15 years older). Other than my sublings, I have babysat my sister’s three kids, professors' children, and the kids of 4 different families. The most current babysitting jobs have been with a family with two school age girls. I could do something else to help make ends meet but I choose to babysit because I love kids. Yes, they get cranky and difficult but that is part of their learning experience and we as adult are here to get them through those times and teach them how to overcome them. For me there is joy in witnessing or being a part in a child's learning experience.
