I'm a former daycare provider/assistant preschool teacher looking to continue working with children. I left my previous job at a daycare center as I was moving into the city to attend a new college. I worked at Stevensville United Methodist Children's Center for one year, six months. I was initially placed in the 2 & 1/2 and 3 year old classroom, where I worked with the lead teacher to care for up to twelve children. I later moved into the 4 and 5 year old room, where I was an assistant preschool teacher three days a week and provided child care in the afternoons. I worked with the lead teacher to create preschool lesson plans and come up with activities for the children in the afternoon, in addition to teaching and supervising the children. I also helped out in the school age room where needed, which involved getting the children Read more off the bus, checking them in, providing snack, and supervising play until parents arrived. I worked with children between ages 6 and 10 in that classroom. I have been babysitting since I was thirteen years old, for eight years. I also volunteered in my church nursery during church services to watch children under 5 years old, and I helped teach Sunday School to the toddler classroom. I also volunteered with Vacation Bible School every year and helped lead opening and closing with songs and skits, and I assisted with crafts, science experiments, games, and leading a group. I am certified in CPR and basic first aid, through the requirements of the daycare center. I also have had various training meetings for the center, such as ZooPhonics training, planning for the preschool age group, and art projects for preschoolers, in addition to online courses and on-the-job training from my coworkers. I love doing crafts, reading, playing, and running with the kids in my care. My current major is Theatre Costuming, but I have an Associates degree in English and I am very capable of helping with homework if needed. I'm extremely excited to work with kids again, I've only been away from my daycare job for three weeks and I miss it already! I can't wait to meet you and get to know your kids!
