I started babysitting in high school and love being around children. I have a calm, patient, and nurturing disposition. I tend to meet children on their level, listen to them and engage them actively rather than pass time with passive entertainment. I have a strong academic background, graduated from an Ivy League University, and enjoy assisting in homework. I play the cello and love to read. I am a Chef-Instructor part-time with Common Threads, which offers cooking and nutrition education after school to underserved children in Chicago Public Schools. In my classes, I work with 8-12-year-olds, instructing them in nutrition and hands-on kitchen skills. I find this work extremely rewarding and have received positive feedback about my ability to engage children and manage a classroom.
