Hello! My name is Elizabeth and I moved to Chicago from Houston, Texas a year ago this August. I graduated with a degree in public health and am currently attending Rush Medical to obtain my Masters in Nursing with a focus in clinical nurse leadership. I've spent the last two years working at a private preschool in Houston, TX where I gained valuable experience working with children. I started my career as a "floater", meaning that I worked in different classrooms (like a substitute) from infant-age to kindergarten. I primarily taught a preschool class with students in the 3-4 age range. There I taught early education such as counting/math skills, alphabet and vowel practice, writing, and art. I have additional experience as a nanny with a high school student with Down's Syndrome. I'm comfortable working with all ages and in a variety of developmental ranges. I am CPR and first Read more aid certified and have over 40 hours of continuing education from my time as a preschool teacher. I currently work at Rush's pediatric psychiatric unit as a nursing assistant, and continue to work with children as a volunteer at the NICU and PICU floors.
