Hello! My name is Emily and I am a 30 year old actor and educator in Chicago for the fall and looking for some extra work while I'm in town. I grew up in Dallas, Tx, went to college at Oklahoma City University, graduated with a BFA in Acting, and have been working as a professional actor and teacher in Chicago and Montana since moving to Chicago in 2015. In 2019, I found a huge love for teaching young people ages K-12th through educational theater workshops. I work with Montana Shakespeare in the Parks in their school tours and have solo taught hundreds of theater workshops like character creation, poetry, storytelling through movement, goals-obstacles-tactics, and many many others. I have a TON of fun and active games to play with all kinds of ages. I'm also first aid and CPR certified. My teaching job has made me highly adaptable and Read more flexible in working with young people from all backgrounds and learning styles. Some days I walk into a classroom of 5 high school seniors who want to learn about life as a traveling actor as I get to learn about the big upcoming basketball tournament and that's what that class needs. Other days I walk into a classroom of 30 high energy 1st graders who struggle to form a circle and need silly theater games to succeed that day. All classes teach me something new and have made me better at interacting with young people. And it's fun! I find kids to be some of the funniest people on the planet and genuinely enjoy my time with them. I have my own car and will be in the Chicago area through the end of Dec. My teaching job in Montana involves a lot of travel so I have a ton of experience driving. Small cars, vans, trailers. I've driven them all. My car here in Chicago is a Nissan Rogue. I can cook, do the dishes, and fold laundry for you while you're out! Whatever I can do to make night out fun and stress-free. I'm also a huge animal lover, so please, bring on the pets!
