My name is Jasmine Cooper; I currently teach in 5th grade at Catalyst Maria in Chicago, Illinois. I have been teaching for 4 years. During this time, I have taught 9th Grade College Writing Seminar, 4th, 5th and 6th grade English Language Arts, 4th and 5th grade Social Studies and 4th and 5th grade Writing. I also have experience with infant and toddlers as a care giver/baby sitter for 6 years. I am currently enrolled at Grand Canyon University and will have certification in Secondary Education upon completion of the program in December 2019. I feel my strengths are culture and discipline and bringing excitement and personality to my relationships with children. With my strengths I have create a safe and fun learning environment that will allow all children to achieve academic and personal goals. In addition to teaching, I have coached High School Girls Volleyball and Basketball, Middle Schools Read more Girls Basketball and High School Boys Volleyball. This year I was able to become the first coach to lead the High School Girls’ basketball team to 3 championships – CPS Blue South/Central Conference Championship, IHSA 2a Regional Championship, and Little Village Christmas Tournament Championship.
