I became a nanny for a farmer's wife at age 12, so she could tend to her massive garden and help her husband in the fields. They had a toddler and a newborn. In the years since then I've cared for children of all ages of family, friends, strangers and acquaintances, taught improv comedy to children, run a children's improv troupe, taught art to children after school through Young Rembrandts and also created an oral hygiene education program I taught to grade school children and middle school children, dressed as Buddy the Elf, for a dental office when I was their marketing coordinator. My favorite thing in the world is being an aunt. I can make a game out of anything. I'm a novelist, therefore a pretty good storyteller. My watermelons and carrots grow in a matter of hours, usually during a nap or well-timed distraction. My tent has more Read more living room miles than forest miles. I love artsy projects. I love pets and while I do not have children of my own, I am a devoted dog mom. I am CPR certified and was a professional chauffeur for over ten years with a spotless motor vehicle report. I also worked as a 911 dispatcher in Skokie, which requires the same extensive background check as a Cook County sheriff's position. Through home healthcare I have also cared for developmentally disabled adults, seniors with dementia and Alzheimer's and children with physical and mental disabilities. I grew up on a farm and love animals of every kind. I've cared for: dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, goats, ferrets, ponies, cows, horses, snakes, crabs, turtles, hamsters, frogs, fish, chickens, ducks, geese, peacocks owls, raccoons, newts and... there's probably someone precious I'm forgetting, but you get the idea.

We have used Sherri both as a babysitter and a dog sitter. We are so happy we found her because both our dogs (and bird) and little girl love her! She’s very flexible with her hours and sent us plenty of updates on our babies while we were away. It’s nice when a sitter seems to love your babies almost as much as you do. She went above and beyond and we couldn’t recommend her more! Ashley and Robert

Sheri is, quite simply, amazing. She’s helping our family out by driving my 5 year old back and forth from school. It’s a substantial drive and Sheri has not only been punctual every single day, but she’s been very flexible with us and someone who has developed absolute trust with our family. She is resourceful and I would absolutely recommend her for any job that requires trust, communication and execution. Thanks Sheri!
