Hello my name is Ms.Felicia :) I am a natural born nurture. Since I was small I remember pushing my baby dolls and dinosaurs in a stroller. Changing them, bathing them, feeding them. Really loving and protecting them. That same passion stood with me. Into my teens I babysat for close family members and friends often. Parents needed a date night and I was their gal! Or in case of an emergency I was only one phone call away! When I turned 20 I worked at a child center and summer camp at a fitness club. We sang,danced,did so many activities ,arts and crafts. I love nature, the sun and the fresh air and my favorite part was going outside to learn and explore the outdoors. SPF,hat and sunglasses on of course! We swam and had picnics. Here and Now I currently have 8 amazing experienced years under my belt Read more working in a in home daycare. I care for babies from 2months old to 4 year old toddlers. I change diapers . Vomit,poop and snot do NOT gross me out. I have seen it all! Tummy time for babies I motivate babies, with soft cheering YOU CAN DO THIS. Gentle back rubs. I follow routine napping, bottle, meal, and activity schedules per request by the parents . Or we work together on getting these routines down together. Having a structured day helps by doing activities such as reading books , working on flash cards, coloring, puzzles, building forts. Nothing is forced though and if a child just wants to sit with a bowl of his or her snack of choice in the hallway ,that’s cool too! I am a big promoter for PLEASE and THANK YOU, asking for help, using our words. Communication is very important especially with little ones. I can handle tantrums. My favorite way to help a child during a tantrum is using positive language alternatives such as “Can I help you? Please be gentle? Take a deep breath then tell me what happened.” Followed by a snack, bubbles , or some tickles . In MY world there are NO BAD KIDS just impressionable,conflicted young people wrestling with emotions and impulses, trying to communicate their FEELINGS AND NEEDS the only way they know how. It’s not work when you love what you do . I truly love caring for children of all ages it really takes a village sometimes.
