Hello..my name is lupe..and I myself was a nanny for 12 yrs. for 2 twin girls..I started with them when I was 9 weeks old..as they got older I would take tjem to activities..such as playdates..priest-school..I also did learning activities with them such as..practicing numbers..letters..and matching card games..also they enjoyed physical activities too as well..such as going to the park..going for walks..and riding bikes..The girls grew up way too fast..but at least i could say I was blessed to be able to be a big part in their lives..and watched them grow up..they are all grown up now..and up to this day they still call me there"lulu" because as little girls..they were never able to pronounce or say my name lupe..But I was very blessed..so here I am now..starting a whole new process..and trying to find that right fit..with a great family..that I can build once again a great bond Read more with a family..and with the kids! :))

After a seemingly pleasant initial call, we set up time for a video call but we didn’t even get to the video interview because she lied about accepting a job the day of our scheduled meeting. Now I see her actively posting and seeking work. Not sure why the lying was necessary but seeing the reviews below makes it seem like this isn’t out of the ordinary for her.

My first at bat with sittercity.com ended in a strikeout. Guadelupe (Lulu) seemed like a lovely lady when we talked extensively over the phone on Sun evening. We set up a time the very next day (Mon) for her to come to the house to meet the kids and me. I waited for 45min with the kids and she never showed up. I sent a message via the app to inquire if she was okay. She said that she had sent me a text cancelling the meeting the same evening that we spoke because she got a better offer. I never received a text. I asked for a screenshot of the text for confirmation. She has not provided it thus far. Strike 1 for the good guys!

When first meeting with Lupe, I was immediately captured by her kindness and friendliness. She interacted with my baby girl so naturally, making her smile and even laugh. This is what made her stand out and resulted in me making her an offer, to which she accepted. She was scheduled to start on a Sunday and we had been communicating back and forth about details, all the way up to the Friday before start date. Then Saturday at around 4pm, she notified me via text that she had accepted another offer and hence would not be able to care for my daughter. This inevitably put me in a difficult situation as she was supposed to work the next day at 8am. Her lack of commitment and follow-through brings her rating to a 3 out of 5 stars.

Lupe ended her 6 months of employment with our family on 1/12/15 abruptly after injuring herself and not being able to work for the next 6-8 weeks. As opposed to communicating directly with us she had her mother send us a text message. We responded with concern and asked that she contact us as soon as she was able. We were prepared to find temp help so that she could rejoin when healthy. After hearing nothing for 2 days, we reached out. Lupe claimed that she didn't call because of pain. That morning we posted our new job search, as we felt it clear due to her lack of follow up that Lupe had no desire to try to work out rejoining us. Then we saw that Lupe had updated her background check the week prior to quitting us and was active on this site once again. When asked about this, her claim was that she was letting her cousin use her account including the updated background check (updated on 1/9), and that it wasn't her. We felt that this response did not make sense, especially given the timing. We sincerely hope that we are wrong, but our gut feeling is that she quit for some reason unknown to us, and in doing so showed callous disregard not only for our daughter and their supposed bond, but also for the difficult position she put us in by either not communicating that she had issues that we could have possibly discussed and fixed, or at worst was giving two weeks’ notice. To be fair - Lupe's care of our child was fine. Our daughter was generally happy, ate well, napped well, and seemed to have developed a deep bond with Lupe, for which we were very grateful. She was helpful with light housekeeping at first, but that trailed off quickly. We chose to not address it as our primary concern was the happiness of our daughter, and we didn't want to rock the boat. While we wish her no ill will and hope that she is fine, we kindly suggest that families consider our experience when searching for the right person to join you in helping to care for your children.
