Hi all! My name is Lia Franklin and I am entering my senior year at James B. Conant High School. For 3 years, I’ve cared for children from the ages of 12 months to 12 years old. I’ve taken early childhood education classes for 3 years and worked in a preschool daily for 2 out of those 3 years. Besides basic care, my responsibilities within the preschool include creating entertaining and educational activities, teaching the preschoolers about numbers and letters, implementing a few rules to provide structure, and encouragement to socialize. Alongside working in the preschool, I also have 2 years of experience working with students with special needs. I have mentored with Special Gifts Theatre where I worked one on one with students with special needs to encourage character development, provide support memorizing lines, and be a loyal friend. Furthermore, I have shadowed for a few teachers at Eugene Read more Field where I learned important boundaries, guided young adults through job coaching, and made meaningful connections with students. I am an animal lover as well and am happy to care for any pets of any size. I have experience with dog sitting and cat sitting and have previously cared for dogs, cats, lizards, hamsters, and guinea pigs. My overall care includes feeding, bathing, light cooking, providing entertainment, homework help, pet care, and any other requested household tasks.
