I have been babysitting for seven years, as well as have worked at summer camps with children ages 3-13 for four years. Due to my experience, I know many activities that are fun for this wide range of ages. I had a boss who always emphasized the importance of being child-like (imaginative, fun, outgoing) but not childish (immature). This is a sentiment I agree with completely. Children do not have a lot of the inhibitions society tends to force upon us and are therefore much more free to be themselves, and for this reason I love working with them. I believe there is a proper balance between helping children and letting them figure something out for themselves and try to keep that balance in every situation while keeping them safe.
