I'm Marisa, a 20-year-old junior at Northwestern University, and I would love the chance to babysit your kids! I am a Northwestern student looking for occasional weekend babysitting opportunities, or potentially a weekly position depending on the times needed. I have loved working with kids for as long as I can remember, and I especially love engaging kids and keeping them entertained without TV or video games. I love to get outside and be active, or come up with games encouraging kids to think and use their imagination, and I am a huge fan of arts & crafts! DIY projects (thanks to Pinterest) are my favorite hobby, so I love getting kids excited about creativity at a young age. I also enjoy helping with school work and making learning fun! A little about my experience: I used to figure skate, and started helping out as a "tot aide" for the Read more little ones when I was just 12 years old. Since then, I've been a student teacher for skating, later an assistant teacher for dance classes, and I have spent countless hours playing with, chatting with, and babysitting my 5 little cousins, who now range in age from 5-13. My experience has varied from I caring for an 7-9 month old baby, to tutoring a 12 year old with ADHD. Plus, with a 4th grade teacher as a mom, I've heard it all about caring for all kinds of kids, and would love to use my knowledge to help your kids! In addition, I was a Peer Tutor for the guided P. E. class at my high school , working with high schoolers with disabilities like Down's Syndrome, Autism or physical disabilities, and helping them to enjoy their gym class. In addition, my CPR certification and First Aid training is freshly renewed, so I feel prepared to care for your kids no matter what happens! Caring for pets is also not a problem at all, I volunteered at PACT Humane Society in Bloomingdale and have experience with dogs, cats, and other pets.
