Hello! I am a mom of two grown kids ages 21 and 18. While I have not received pay for caring for children, I have loads of unpaid (yet very rewarding!) experience caring for my own kids, my nieces and nephews, and my friends’ kids. I was very involved with the PTA when my kids were growing up: I was a room parent for six years, a chaperone for Evanston Swims, a Girl Scout leader, an in-classroom fluency tutor, and I lead a fourth-grade Junior Great Books group. When it comes to spending time with kids of any age, I find that a sense of humor paired with joy, caring, and mutual respect are key. In addition to child care, I have been a professional pet sitter and dog walker and volunteered at a local pet rescue in the role of kennel shift leader for two years. My own pets Read more include two dogs, three cats, one axolotl, and several backyard chickens. Along with an impeccable driving record, I have my own car: a fully loaded 2020 Mazda CX-9 that has all the latest safety features. I enjoy preparing snacks and meals for my own kids and understand picky eaters and how to find healthy solutions for differing tastes. I love kids and pets and am extremely responsible. I am looking for part-time work in the afternoon and evenings when not at my regular position that is 9 am to 1 pm at Northwestern University. Note: In the past, I have completed first aid and CPR classes, but they are not current; I could update those certificates if needed.
