Hi there! My name is Sophina Hunter and I am an 18 year recently graduated high school student. In the past, I have babysat family members ages 6 months to 12 years old. I have also continuously babysat a 12 year old with Autism who I have formed a very close bond with. My senior year in high school, I took an Early Childhood Education class where we learned intellectual, social, and physical development of children ages 6 months-5 years old. Along with learning how children may act in certain situations, we learned effective discipline techniques, effective praise, and how to correctly handle a variety of situations. From October 2015-May 2016, we worked with a preschool class ages 3-5 years old. Interacting with them, planning lessons and activities, and helping them learn to read and write. In college, I am pursuing a degree in early childhood education as well. I Read more am certified in CPR and am planning on taking weekend EMT classes this upcoming summer. I am available monday-friday 6 a.m - 10 p.m and some weekends. I can also work holidays! I love kids of all ages and can't wait to have children of my own if thats what my future allows me to do. I believe children can learn through example, fun, and effective praise. A child's childhood helps define who they will be for the rest of their lives, which is why I believe that children should have fun, but learn common skills, manners, and discipline no matter what age. I believe that I can help kids obtain those skills through example, fun activities, and hands-on experiences. I would love to babysit this summer, it's the perfect job for me and I hope to help out any family in any way that I can! Thank you!!
