I spent my working years as a Registered Nurse in Orthopedics, Obstetrics and School Nursing. I enjoyed every single one of those years. But the most rewarding were the years I raised my amazing 4 children. They have grown into caring, giving, responsible people, who are not only valuable to our family, but valuable in our community. I am very proud. They have gone one step further and given me and my husband 6 beautiful grandchildren. I took care of each of those grandbabies from the time they were born until they were at least a year old so that they would not have to be in a day care center. Mommy and Daddy had to work. It was a labor of love. Of course, I babysit them from time to time for fun also. Perhaps you are wondering what device I use for mobility. I must use something.......I have Read more 6 grandkids. Maybe a walker.......or a cane........or a wheel chair!! Just kidding! I have always been very active. I walk/run every other day. I have been known to run an occasional 5K. Last November was my 3rd Hot Chocolate 5K in Chicago. I love to play with kids....yard games, board games. I cook and bake with my grandkids. Reading is very important to all children in my opinion, even infants. I enjoy crafting. I could be helpful with some tutoring as well. I have a BA in Liberal Arts and a second degree in Nursing.
