My favorite part about working with children is seeing how they look at the world. They see magic in everything. I have always enjoyed working with kids. I grew up with a brother who had autism and struggled greatly with Sensory Processing Disorder. He has given me skills that are truly invaluable. My brother taught me immense patience. He gave me experience on how to help someone through anxiety or panic attacks, use coping mechanisms to help kids decompress when overstimulated, and understand others even if they struggle with speech issues. I used to volunteer to assist the paraprofessionals at my high school. I have also attended many trauma informed caregiving seminars. As well as completed an Early Childhood Development class, and an Early Childhood Occupations class.
