Hello! My name is Jacob! My interest are painting and drawing, fishing, playing video games occasionally, hiking, going on bike rides, playing and watching sports, and reading and writing stories/poems. My interest in providing care for young children came about when I was 18. What I enjoy about working with children is engaging with them in play and watching them grow and develop! Most of all, you can learn many things from children! I am currently a part-time Babysitter for a family of a 7-year-old son who is Home Schooled on occasional weekends. My main task includes engaging with him during play and providing assistance on his school work. I was a Student teacher assistant at Gregory Drive Public School for Kindergarten (ages 4-6) and First grade (ages 6-7) students. My main tasks included providing academic assistance to both kindergarten and first-grade students, and monitor the children during lunch and Read more recess hour. I was a Caregiver assistant at Patti’s Home Childcare for children ages 1-4 years. My main tasks included preparing snack and lunches for the children, engage with them during play, and helped children who needed assistance with being feed, put away for nap time and getting dressed. I am approaching my final college year in Early Childhood Education this coming fall. I am striving towards becoming a preschool teacher once I graduate. I am both CPR and First Aid Certified. I am also certified in the Kids Have Stress Too! Preschool Program Certification. The program focuses on the kinds of stress children can experience starting in their early years such as Acute stress, episodic acute stress, and chronic stress. The program also educated us on ways to help children manage stress such as teaching them how to Self-Regulate.
