For 12 years I had the privilege of working for wonderful families taking care of children from 3 months old to approximately 8 years old. I enjoyed playing with the kids, reading to them, going for walks, to the park, playdates, classes, museums, etc. I also cooked light meals for them and sometimes even for the family. Helped with laundry, grocery shopping, running errands, or organizing projects while kids were napping or at school. I also helped with walking the dog and making sure it had fresh water. One of the families asked me to speak Spanish to their kids and so while they were 3 months old and 2 years old I spoke mostly spanish. At the end of my time working for them the children able to understand a day to day conversation. Now they are in college and last time I saw the boy we were speaking spanish, it amazes me how much they learned!! As a mother myself I know of the importance of making sure children are in a safe and healthy environment. One passion of mine has always been things related to nutrition and healthy eating so I got a nutrition certification and worked in that field after babysitting for the Cook family (2017-2025)

I have many years of experience with children in a wide range of settings, including many years of babysitting for families in their homes, working as a summer camp counselor, as an assistant teacher in a daycare, and volunteering in two elementary schools. I raised my own son and I occasionally watch my 4 and 6 year old grandsons. In the past year and a half I have watched a 2.5 year old boy, an infant girl from age 3 to 6 months, a baby boy from 7 to 10 months, and an 8 year old girl. I completed a pediatric first aid and CPR class in November 2023. When I am watching children I do not use my cell phone (other than in case of emergency or if I need to schedule an appointment) as I want to give the kids my undivided attention. I especially enjoy reading to children, doing art projects together, and taking nature walks. I am very energetic, and on days when I am not babysitting, I typically take 4 - 5 mile walks along the lake. I am very happy to provide professional and personal references. Among the parents from whom I can provide references are a neonatologist, a professor of psychology, a nurse, and an elementary schoolteacher. As a caregiver, I am highly reliable, kind, warm, and fun. I love both kids and dogs. My schedule is typically very flexible, and I can often make myself available for last-minute requests. Thank you. Rosanne

Hello, my name is Mariah Alvarez. I am thirty one years old. I am a full-time SECA (Special Education Classroom Assistant) working for CPS (Chicago Public Schools). Before I started my CPS career, I worked for several years as a nanny for two amazing families who I still keep in touch with! I have experience with special needs and medical needs. I also have a younger sister (23 years old) who has special needs. Through caring for her is where my love and passion grew with wanting to work in special education. She is my muse and the reason why I chose working in Special Education. I have experience with all age groups! I like to dedicate my time to being of service to children/people who need help. I like to teach independence as much as possible, all while guiding and making learning fun. I love to plan play dates! Anything that involves being outside and going around the beautiful city that we live in, is a must (weather permitting of course)! I am looking to work full-time for the summer. Please feel free to reach out if you feel like I'd be a good fit to work with your family. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I recently moved back to Chicago from my undergraduate school, in which I study French and Cellular Molecular Biology. My experience working with kids began in my household, being the oldest with three younger siblings. During undergraduate studies I worked at a tutoring program funded by my university to aid children who have difficulties at home and educational challenges. I also have experience as a CPR instructor, an EMT volunteer, an Emergency Room intern and general-hospital student abroad. I enjoy learning new skills during my free time, mainly in the arts. I recently started metal smithing, Jiu jitsu training, and learning Italian. I also love outdoor activities, especially going on walks and hiking with my kitten. While I might be involved in many things, my schedule is completely flexible. I really hope that I can be the right fit for your family, please feel free to message me for more information or a resume. Thank you for visiting my profile!
