Hi! My name is Icys, and I’m a 20-year-old college student pursuing a triple major in Political Science, Legal Studies, and Criminal Justice. I’ve always had a passion for working with children because they bring so much joy, energy, and laughter into every day. One of the biggest reasons I love childcare is my 3-year-old baby brother. Even with our 17-year age gap, I’ve been there to watch him grow, learn, and discover the world. Spending so much time with him has made caring for children something that truly comes naturally to me. I have over 4 years of professional experience working with children in a variety of settings. I spent several years at a recreational center working with children ages 3–13, primarily preschoolers ages 3–5. I also worked as a summer tutor with 4- and 5-year-olds at an elementary school, helping them build confidence and strengthen early learning skills. Read more Most recently, I worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) at an ABA therapy center, where I provided one-on-one support to children with autism, helping them develop communication, social, and daily living skills through patience, encouragement, and positive reinforcement. Beyond childcare, I’ve also worked as an assistant, health educator, and in customer service, which has strengthened my communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Families describe me as dependable, patient, and adaptable. Whether it’s helping with homework, planning fun activities, preparing meals, or simply creating a safe and caring environment, I always strive to make children feel comfortable, supported, and excited to learn.
