*Bethany A Phillips *29 year old *Female *Oak Park I.L. Resident Hello, I have been in the child care business for over 10 years now. I have had experience in running my own in home child care business for about 6 of those years. I have watched over 40 children through the ages of newborns through junior high age children. I started watching children at the age of 19 when my mother friend was in a tight position with work and needed some one to watch her 3 month old son, I fell in love with this little boy and decided that providing child care for families was what I am good at. I did attended triton community college for Child Development but I didn't finish because the mother of the child that I was providing child care for went back to work and it went from watching him on Read more weekends to watching him during the week. In late 2006 I decided to open up my own small in home child care business out of my parents home in Maywood I.L. I was a small daycare center but that gave me the chance to provided one on one care for my children. Who later became known as "Bee's Babies" As my name is Bethany but trying to get a 1 year old to call me by my full name was a bit of a struggle. I think that I am different then other child care providers in the way that I give my all to the child that I am caring for I don't see it as just a 9-5 job. I think that I add a personal touch in the way of I try to get to know the family and the child that I am caring for. Getting to know them like for example there favorite colors, they favorite food, there favorite cartoon, And I go all out on there birthday. In early 2014 I had to make a very hard decision and close my child care center in Maywood I.L. it wasn't due to the fact that I didn't enjoy keeping and caring for the kids the surrounding of the area was becoming dangerous and I felt that my babies would be better off at a school. I am more than happy to say that I am still in contact with a lot of the families even going to get the children from time to time to take them out to places like Chuck E. Cheeses and to the mall to buy new gym shoes. Because once you are a "Bee's Baby" You are one for life no matter how old the child gets. I also love animals I have had pets for as long as I can remember now I have a dog name Jake and a pet painted turtle name Terry. Please if you are interested I can assure you that you wont be sorry. I give all I can to the child in my care
