Hello! My name is Marissa. I am 19 years old, and I am a college student currently majoring in Social Work and planning to get my master's later in the future. My passion for choosing Social Work mainly stems from my love for working with children. My experiences working with children began in high school when I enrolled in my high school's preschool program. For two years, I worked with over 20 preschoolers building lesson plans, doing parent teacher conferences, and learning how to teach children with a variety of different personalities and teaching styles. After high school, I continued working with kids at my local church every Sunday by volunteering in their nursery. There, I am able to work with infants ages 3 months to 2 years old. Last summer, my church also held a Vacation Bible School and I volunteered to be a leader and got the opportunity Read more to work with a group of 6 second grade girls. The 5-day event consisted of fun events that I guided them through along with bathroom and snack breaks throughout. I loved that experience so much that I plan to continue to do it each summer. Overall, my experience with children has been nothing but amazing for me, even when moments are tough. Building close relationships with children and giving them opportunities to build fun memories and good skills is a dream of mine. I believe babysitting can do a lot for me and other children when parents allow me the chance. I am very excited and eager for any opportunity that opens up to work with your child or children!
