Hello! My name is Autumn. I live in Ottawa, Illinois. I pursed a degree in Early Childhood Education at Illinois Valley Community College. I was a straight A student and am a member of the Sigma Kappa Delta honor society as well as Phi Alpha Kappa. I have known from a very young age that I wanted to work with children. It is something that I have always been passionate about. I loved school, and I loved learning about how to provide developmentally appropriate curriculum based off the needs, interests, and learning styles of all children. I believe children learn best through play, and I believe it is the provider's role to prepare an environment that is safe, nurturing, and encourages children's involvement and interactions. Besides attending school, I have substituted at a local childcare center in my town where I worked with children between the ages of infancy through school-aged. I also teach Sunday school to the 2nd grade class at my church. I have children of my own that attend school full-time, so I understand how important it is for parents and childcare providers to work together and form a partnership, so that their child feel safe, comfortable, and have a positive environment around them.
