This past year, in my classroom I worked with children from very diverse and sometimes difficult backgrounds. It was a privilege to give these children some stability and support in their life. Although at times difficult, it was rewarding to see the growth many of our students experienced throughout the school year. In the classroom we used Conscious Discipline, focusing on social-emotional learning and self-control, to create an open, safe, and creative learning environment. I would like to use these same principles of support, understanding, and compassion in continuing to serve the Butte community.
