Hello! My name is Sylwia, I come from Poland. I am 40 years old and I live in Round Lake Beach, IL. I am currently working full time as a nanny for a family with two children, ages 5 and 7. I am fluent in English, also I speak Polish. I graduated from college in Poland with a degree that would be an equivalent to an American BA. My major was English. I am a mom of a 10-year-old girl. I have started babysitting and nannying in 2003, first with summertime jobs, then full time in 2005. As I mentioned before, I come from Poland and my sister and I were the oldest of 11 cousins which, in a country where parents tend to rely on their family for childcare, meant for us a lot of time spent babysitting. Over the 20years of paid babysitting for various families I have Read more taken care of kids of all ages, from newborn to teenagers. The largest number of kids I took care of at one time was 4, also occasionally at play dates I took care of a larger number of kids. I can provide contact information to all the families I worked for for references. I have been a nanny for my current family for the last 5 years, however both of "my kids" are now full time at school, which, unfortunately, forces me to look for a new job. Previous to these jobs, I had stayed with one family in Kildeer, Il for over 10 years working as a nanny first and then a nanny/housekeeper. My usual days with the kids include all regular obvious activities such as getting the kids ready for school/playtime, preparing meals, supervising homework, bathing, driving to school/activities etc. Of course, we also have playtime , we do educational activities, arts and crafts, pretend play, board games, outside play, library visits, walks etc. With my current employers I am also responsible for cleaningthe house while the younger child is at preschool.As a housekeeper I did laundry, ironing, grocery shopping, cooking, running errands and anything the parents needed at the moment. It is hard to describe oneself without verging on bragging :), I can tell for sure that I always try to be neat, dependable and punctual. I do my best to ensure the children's safety ( being a mom myself, I understand how hard it is to leave your kids in somebody's care), I always follow any directions the parents give me and appreciate any feedback to make sure I follow their style of parenting.
