I am currently a CPS music teacher, and have been a teacher for 3 years now. I teach grades K- 8th, with classrooms from anywhere to 25-33 students. Previously I've worked many babysitting jobs, often times in a church setting. For 2 weeks I took over a mini home daycare with 5 children from the ages of 1- 3. Most of my experience with children comes from teaching. Growing up in my church I volunteered teaching and doing puppet shows for the children ages 3-6. I did that for about 6 years. I've also taught piano lessons to kids from ages 3- 11. I also have lots of experience with new borns because of my cousins, nieces, and nephews I babysat. My goal is to teach them as much as I can, whether it be music, art, which is my specialty, reading, writing, and math. I like to use music to teach math. I like to push their creativity and imagination by encouraging them to think outside the box and be themselves. It is important for a child at a young age to find confidence, self worth, and purpose in their life. As a music teacher I find that I strive to help my students and children find that value in themselves.
